Pros: Weight, Handle Material, Overall Quality
Bushcrafters Rejoice. This is epic.
I had high hopes when I bought this. And almost all my expectations were met. I wanted a compact machete with a true scandi grind for a long time. To find one actually made in Sweden was a bonus. This bad boy does all your normal machete stuff...plus it's light enough to make feather sticks, tent stakes, & most any simple camp carving job you can think of. Don't get me wrong, your not going to carve a spoon with it. To really push it, I took it out & did a one stick fire with it & all my tent stakes, & pot hanger setup. I even roughed out a spatula. All this AFTER clearing the campsite with normal machete stuff. The only fault I have with this is the saw back. It's good enough for notches, but nothing else. The sheath is awesome too. It's open back lets you use the spine/sawback with the edge safely tucked away. If EKA were to read this...PLEASE ditch the sawback & give us a nice 90 degree spine for scraping jobs. It would be much handier.
