i have owned a knife business and had my pick of any knife made. this is the best of all I've owned. big, tough, beautiful and quick in any blade style you study. the bowie point is perfectly aligned for thrusts and back cuts. just an awesome balanced knife. worth every penny

Emerson Bowie
I am a huge fan of Emerson blades but this blade is so finely crafted that it is extremely brittle. Let me explain,... the very tip of the blades is the finest ground V edge I have ever seen. It literally is a needlepoint. So, if you happen to drop it, (from 3 feet onto gravel) expect the tip to break off. This was highly disappointing but expected. Hence, this is now an excellent work knife instead of a excellent self defense weapon.

Combat Bowie
I ordered this knife in exchange for the CQC12 that I had returned to Knife Center. Knife felt great in the hand but like most Emerson knives I've owned the blades don't open very smoothly and the locks get jammed under the blade when the wave feature is used. The knife is also a little to light for my taste, I prefer my knives to have some heft to them. So I sent this knife back as well. I'll stick with my Benchmades and Al Mars.
