Best Utility Knife I ever owned

Easy carrier with the clip which can be moved to 3 positions. The assist opening mechanism is one of the best. Locking the blade is a snap with the thumb slide next to the blade release button. I like the lanyard which can be used to break auto glass. The blade is tough and can take a ton of punishment. I also purchased a SOG AO which is about the same size, but the Gerber is a much tougher knife for use in the field.

Best Knife Gerber makes

This knife is sharp. It is assisted opening and it is fast. Can open it faster than any of their auto knives. This is my carry knife. I never leave home without it.

built like a tank

This has been my every day carry for several years, since it came out. It opens fast and locks good. While its not the sharpest, it is a workhorse, i've cut everything from food to thick copper wire with it and it has no problems. I wish it was made in something other than a tanto blade. However would highly recommend for a edc that will take some abuse.

GREAT KNIFE

This is my. Daily carry knife and is use for everything. It’s well made and stays sharp much longer than any other blade I have ever used. I’ve had it several years now carried in my back pocket. My only complaint is the slide lock. When it is folded it is not very well fit and allows the blade to open enough to expose the point and enough blade to give ou a nice cut when you reach for it. The slide lock has actually moved enough to allow the blade to open in my pocket at least once making bit almost impossible to remove from the pocket.

Recently purchased Downrange AO 3.5 Black EDC Knife

This is my first $100+ EDC knife. I juggled between this knife and a Benchmade Bugout. I kind of wish I went with the Benchmade. Upon arrival the knife was very stiff to open. I had to oil it, to free it up. I have small hands but it should not be this hard to open an assisted knife. The pocket clip does not hold the knife securely in the pocket. There was a good gap between the clip and the body of the handle that made the knife slide out much to easy. It is a sturdy knife with a very sharp blade, but I am somewhat disappointed based on how much the knife cost. I have three Kershaw knives, much less expensive that are easier to operate.

Cons: Pocket Clip

Good knife crap clip.

Started out as a 5. The knife itself is good but the clip just doesn’t want to stay in. Had to have 3 different pocket clips purchased for mine. The issue is that the screws screw into the plastic handle so they strip out very very easily, even with locktite. They either need longer screws or metal spacers to scare them in to.
