Perfect for Duty/EDC Carry
I'd always loved this knife, and handled my first 06 Auto years ago when it was announced in a manual version, it just fit my hand like it was molded for it. My only caveat to purchasing it, was that it was a partially serrated blade and in S30V steel, that meant a hard time resharpening the blade. Recently, with my recent career change to corrections, it seemed fate that Gerber would introduce plain edge versions of the 06 Auto, and with G10 scales, this model seemed like my perfect EDC for on and off duty. The blade steel holds up to cutting down lines in cells or ripping apart mats that are suspect of concealing contraband during shakedowns; I purchased this knife back in August of 2016 and have already resharpened it once (I like my blades razor sharp) and with the proper kit (diamond stones) it's an easy knife to resharpen and maintain. The G10 scales provide EXCEPTIONAL traction in wet conditions when wearing gloves or bare handed, and the design of the handle keep the knife from slipping. I even had a fellow officer order the aluminum handled version of this knife as his EDC after handling mine, and he swears by it too. This is the knife that made me switch back to Gerber from Benchmade, it's that good.
