Pros: Blade Material, Overall Quality, Handle Feel, Weight, Handle Material, Blade Sharpness
Wow. gorgeous craftsmanship!
My niece and I began to become interested in damascus type steel (she is a skilled craftsman in her own right, I am not. We both appreciate quality and craftsmanship.) and I introduced her to Laguoile style knives, so....as a surprise I gifted her with this model of Honore Durand. I had done research on companies making these style knives for months previously to this purchase. This research led me to the opinion that Honore Durand was a good company for this design. My estimation is there are five solid companies making Leguoile style knives. They're all in France. Since KnifeCener had a good price for it, it was a go! When I recieved it I inspected it and was pretty pumped about what I saw. Awesome fit and finish; zero blade play, centered flawlessly, super sharp, scales were stunning, file work simple but perfect. This modern version of damascus blade was very, very cool. The whole knife feels like a tank, yet elegant at the same time....go figure. My niece loved it. I was proud to give her something she will have forever. She won't use it though, saying its "Much too nice to use." She breaks it out here and there and admires it , LOL I feel that.....got my own about two months later and I don't wanna use it either! Too darn NICE.
