This thing works as hard as you do!
I'm a small engine mechanic, and I use my Surge every day at work. When I come home I practice knifemaking and metal fabricating, and I use my Surge every time I go into my workshop. I couldn't operate on a day to day basis if I didn't have my Leatherman. When I was first shopping for a good multi-tool about a year ago, the Leatherman Wave caught my eye; however, I wasn't a fan of the size. It seemed too small. Then I found the Surge, which is literally the Wave on steroids. It's bigger, sturdier, and it has the added benefit of replacable 154CM wire cutters, which is awesome. My only qualm with the Surge is the 420HC knife blades. I wish they made a version with either 154CM blades or S30V. However, since the knife blade on my Surge is my secondary EDC knife, I can't really complain. 420HC sharpens quickly and easily, and is pretty good at resisting corrosion. In total, if you're like the Wave but would like something beefier, buy a Surge. It'll work as hard as you do.
