So glad to see these back in stock @ KC! I bought mine when they first got these in and I LOVE it. I own 3 Hinderer investigator pens and I'm in the habit of writing in 3.5"x5.5" notebooks (Word brand notebooks are identical in size to the classic field notes book that is included in this set). If you look online, similar leather rigs for your pen and notebook are sold for, on average $65-$250+ usd. Great deal on this thing at knifecenter. This Hinderer case is awesome quality thick leather with great stitching. The Investigator pens fit the side slot perfectly with tight retention. Throw this in your bag or have it kick around in your car, your Investigator pen is not going to fall out! The finish is on par with some custom holsters and these just reek of handmade quality! Speaking of smell, some leather goods smell so strongly of dyes and leather that it's overwhelming. I have a Böker knife sheath in black that smells so strong it's almost dizzying...This case just has a very mild smell of high quality leather. The snap is high quality and I use my case for the notebook and 7-8 industrial certification cards. With the notebook snug inside, you've still got room for some folded cash or cards as well. When new, the included notebook feels just a couple milimeters higher that the case's edge, this is good, as leather will stretch. So your first notebook may develop a tiny bend on top because of the tight fit, but once the flap is broken in, everything fits perfectly. I always balked at Hinderer's stuff because his knives are fairly expensive. As soon as I got an investigator pen, my mind was made up. I bought two more, then bought this case. I am now looking seriously at buying a Hinderer fixed blade. I also have to say, Hinderer's customer service is great when I've emailed to ask questions or request additional o-rings for the pens. If this looks like your style, you'll really like this case. I would buy another immediately if I lost mine.
