Great knife-perfect for what us mere mortals use a knife for
I've had this knife now since last November. I've used it for EDC and it has been my companion during a home renovation and also outdoors. It has cut carpet, boxes, tubing, plastic bags, pruned rose bushes and small trees, plastic sheeting-you name it. The Bad Monkey holds an edge well but is also easy to sharpen. The wave feature is a really nice touch. The scales have a good grip and feel great from a tactile standpoint. The whole knife feels great from a tactile standpoint. My hands are small and I find it easy to handle. It locks up solid and is assembled very well. On top of that it is just a really cool knife. I've not hunted with the knife yet, but for food prep around the kitchen, camp or the grill and smoker, it does just fine. As for the steel nerds, if you have 14C28N someone wants 154CM. If you have 154CM, someone wants S30 or 35V. For the price it could be argued that the steel is a bit lacking, but the other attributes of the knife really do offset any perceived shortcomings in the steel. The barrel standoffs and open construction are classy and practical. The clip is a bit strange but holds the knife just fine. It doesn't wave quite as well as my CQC-7 or Journeyman, but that may be operator error on my part. I'm not a Zac Brown fanboy (do like him as an artist) but do have to say that he really hit it out of the park with this knife.
