best of the best
it's a shame it doesn't exist the 6 because this "nata" is the best in his class. I have tried in two excursion in the mountin around my city and it's really extraordinary. After some research I was arrived to the conclusion that steel is SK5 which is similar to 1080. As all japanese knife is razor sharp. Handle is very confortable.Sheat is beautiful in apparence but is not as good as the knife and the belt loop seems somewhat weak and prone to break

Matagi
A nata is standard gear for a Japanese matagi (mountain man). I was surprised at how quickly I was able to go through some fairly large trees. Nice heft. A little heavy for wacking at light brush. Stays sharp. Good grip. Interesting bevels at the tip... I think the scabbard is very well done. Has a removable belt clip so you could store the scabbard in your pack, then take it out and attach it to the belt clip when needed. I have a saw made by the same company (Silky). Both high quality.

Near perfect
I use it mostly for camping,it's the perfect size &weight for chopping &splitting I have been using my Nata for about 2 years now and have not yet had to sharpen it. The only thing that I can bitch about is the sheath, it's a little loose & noisy, I will probably get a kydex sheath made. I would recommend this blade to anybody
