Pros: Lock Type, Handle Material, Handle Feel, Blade Sharpness, Blade Material, Ease of Opening, Weight, Lock Ease of Use, Overall Quality
Big Beefy cutter
I bought this as an EDC, and I'm large enough to make that idea practical. I like Steel Will knives, and this makes number 4 for me. Steel Will is a respected Company, and for good reason. This knife is built like a tank. Out of the box, the blade is quite sharp, and the blade shape is of a design that will be most practical. The blade is large and heavy, but well-shaped, and the flipper sends the blade out very effectively and efficiently. The liner lock system holds the blade open without any play whatsoever, and I believe I won't ever have to worry about it failing. The scales are G10, and the back spacer is also jimped G10, and the ergonomics are perfect for me. I have extra large hands, and the grip is perfectly comfortable and controllable in both the conventional and reverse grips. I remove the pocket clips on all my knives (no one has to know I have a knife in my pocket) so I cannot comment on that particular part. I like everything about this knife, and can't think of anything I would change on it. Again, it is a large, heavy knife, but I have no doubt I could trust my life to it, if the need arose. I buy factory knives from all the major producers, and have over 400 in my collection so far. Most would probably be considered tactical, at least in appearance, but as an RN/Paramedic/Firefighter (now retired) I have yet to buy a knife from these makers that did not serve me very well, at work and at home. I never leave the house without at least 2 knives on my person, if not 3. Be prepared! At this price, I'm considering picking up another one, but I know I will never wear this one out!
