Great stone

I used to work in a meat packing plant. Used a ceramic steel often, so I figured i would try these out. Stone works great on anything from kitchen, boning, and hunting knives. Puts an extremely good edge on in a short period of time. Polishes the blade as well. Cleans easy with warm water and a scrub pad. Stone case holds the the stone in place when sharpening, has rubber legs so it wont slide. Lid closes shut. It is still new, so I hope it will continue to preform well. Plan on replacing my Arkansas stones with a full set of these ceramics.

Awesome sharpening stone

This is a great general purpose sharpening stone and the edge it produces really has a "bite" to it, great stone and you don't have to use oils or anything for lubricating.

Great finish stone

I use this and the medium stone for sharpening woodworking tools. These stones do not come flat enough to use for planes and chisels and very difficult to flatten. You will need a coarse diamond stone and a lot of elbow grease to get them flat, but once you've done that, they are great stones to use. They cut reasonably fast and the fine stone leaves a great finish. Because of the hardness of the stones, you can easily sharpen curved tools like gouges and knives. You can really feel the bevel lay flat on the stone when honing, and are the best stones for people needing to hone a variety of tools. Had they come flat from the manufacturer, I would have given a 5.
