Great knife
Bought this on recommendation although it´s a bit too pricey for my taste. The first time I picked it up and felt the balance and overall quality, an old saying came to mind: you get what you pay for.

High quality!
This is my number one hunting knife. I own the standard F1 with leather sheath and it have never let me down. The end of the handle have been used to hammering nails, so this is a very tough no nonsense knife!

I use the F1 for hiking and camping. I apply it to wood carving (tent pegs, spikes), meat cutting, fish gutting and the like. It has never let me down. The F1 is not a showy 'look at me' knife. It is for serious users and is appreciated by people in the know. I have the zytel sheath and loop it around my belt. Its light so I forget its there until I need it. Its relatively small hence easy to handle. The handle feels so good in your hand, as though it was moulded for you alone. There is a nice solid weight about it too so you feel its sturdiness and strength. Its sturdiness does not mean that aesthetics is sacrificed. The F1 is minimalist in look, and has beautiful curves that invite your touch, not intimidate you. My only regret is that I got the teflon coated blade which means there are lots of fine scratches on it. I'll be sending it back to Fallkniven in Sweden for grinding to get rid of the coat. The only problem is that the convex edge makes it somewhat complicated to sharpen. I'll have to read up more and watch more Youtube demos before I attempt it. All in all, if you need a knife for serious no-nonsense use, the F1 is it. If you want some big useless Rambo type knife for attention, then look somewhere else.

The best hunting knife ever
I use it for processing deers. The belly curvature is the most excellent for skinning and getting back straps. The handle ergonomics and the good weight balance give it extraordinary performance. The edge retains for 3 deers and is easily restored on the strop. The best knife I have ever met.

Fine knife
Sheath has plastic detente, wish it were just a bit heavier, that it held the knife in more firmly. It feels like a case meant for throwing (the knife) but haven't tried. Handle provides good despite lack of anything for the thumb push against. Very sharp, very rigid blade. photo accurately portrays the small "pommel" ridge. It is no more than heel of the tang.
