Correcting the above misinformation
All Fallkniven fixed blades are made in Japan. By Hattori Hamono Co, Ltd, of Seki to be exact. They are made entirely there to Fallkniven's design specs. Between the best fixed blade knifemaker in Seki Japan and the high standards of quality of Fallkniven Sweden they produce arguably the highest quality knives on earth. The high costs reflects this fact. This is made clear by Fallkniven Sweden themselves.

A prestigeous knife indeed.
This is my 1st Fallkniven knife and since I wanted it customized by engraving a logo on the blade, I purchased it from Fallkniven in Boden, Sweden. It didn't even take a week from the time I placed an order until the knife was received, and no problem whatsoever with customs either. The photo image won't do justice and you have to hold it in your own hand. It's a complete solid piece and no flaw in craftsmanship and let me tell you; it's stunningly beautiful! Not only is it beautiful, it's also sharp, I mean, deadly sharp that it cuts and slices papers like butter! It's sold as a hunting knife intended for an outdoor use but I've purchased it as a collectible with some sentimental value. The tremendously sharp edge and double hilt make it an excellent fighting knife so in case of what if scenarios, I will keep it in the drawer. The well-stitched black sheath is also made of genuine leather and fine aroma of leather speaks for itself. The wooden box the knife comes in also adds some elegance to the knife and it's like an old cigar box. It's an exceptional knife with exceptional blade shape, exceptional purposes for exceptional people who have a taste for and appreciate beauty and perfection.

beautiful piece
The big misconception over fallkniven is they are made in Japan which is wrong. The steel is made in Japan then all other work, grinding, fitting and final polish etc are done by fallkniven, by hand in most cases. The volcano is a beautiful knife that just feels great in the hand. Love them

Amazing Performance and Feel
The odd thing about knives is there are users and collectors. I am a user. The Volcano is a little fancy for my usual taste, but it's an amazing blade that is worthy of hard use. However, if your needs involve bashing apart wood, look elsewhere. The Volcano will preform, but you risk breaking the handle covering of wood. It also means you have the wrong knife for your needs. Instead may I suggest a hatchet? The Volcano is a thick sharp blade with a extensive belly and tremendous slicing capabilities. Please do not consider the blade shape wrong for hunting and outfitting. Instead, consider your experience and needs. The Volcano is what it is. If you get it, well then get it. If you are confused by the shape and design, then you don't get it yet. But you will. Keep hunting and you will. And maybe hunt bigger game.
