Pros: Blade Sharpness, Sheath/Scabbard, Handle Material, Blade Material, Materials, Weight, Overall Quality, Finish
Over-the-TOPS and awesome
I wanted to review this knife on looks alone as soon as I opened the package. But I knew I needed to use it to be fair. Yes, this knife is a beast as described by many. The acid wash and blade shape are beautiful. The black G10 over the micarta handle compliments the blade so well, and it is full, but ergonomic in the hand. I took this knife hunting on several days and I loved the sheath. The way it dangled below my coat was great and I had no problems with noise (all due respect for the other reviewer who had these issues). I was hunting and stalking dear and I heard not a sound from the sheath. My hunting party loved the knife too. It got handed around quite a bit, with father-in-law chuckling at the heft of it and making Dundee jokes. All kidding aside, I used the knife to make a fire, chopping kindling, battoning, feather sticks. It works, of course, but that is not the primary intent of the knife. It appears to be more of a combat style, but that shouldn't stop the purchase. I have many knives, fixed and folding. I collect and use them hard. I also take great care of them. Upon first look I knew this knife would remain in the collection. After use, that thought is further confirmed. It is such a joy to use. Yes, its heavy, thick, and some could say over-the-top; but that is why I love it. I have other knives to carry if I want something lightweight and slim. But, if you want a knife that looks and feels like no other, its a great choice.
