The Shabaria

Eduard Bradichansky Shabaria
Knives and history go hand in hand. From the first flint tools to modern tactical knives, designs have changed but their function remains the same. Centuries ago in the Jordan River Valley, nomads carried the Shabaria. Now Spyderco has joined forces with Israeli custom knifemaker Eduard Bradichansky to create the first folding Shabaria. Impressive in its appearance, the SP59 is actually a case of form following function, making it a rare breed, a multi-purpose utility knife with personality! The VG-10 stainless steel blade is 3 7/8" (97 mm) long with a stylized drop-point shape. The handle's unique hourglass shape feels slim and unusual yet incredibly comfortable in the hand. Eduard Bradichansky's attention to small details includes using a lustrous linen Micarta for the handle material and adding a matching black stainless steel clothing clip for tip-down carry in the pocket. That and the addition of a Linerlock allow for easy retrieval and access. Overall weight of the Shabaria is just 3 1/3 oz (94 g).
