Corrie Schoeman Handmade Knives
“My logo is “Folding Art”, and that is what my knives are: pieces of folding art”, a quote from Corrie Schoeman the South African custom knifemaker himself. Shoeman’s knives are world renowned for their beautiful designs and use of top notch materials. Corrie started making knives about 30 years while attending school. His first knife was a big Bowie made from a car spring and he obtained a piece of stag from his local zoo for the handle. His fellow students were enthralled and he began taking orders to make more. Even after earning two university degrees, he continued to make knives part-time, but it became such a passion that he left his profession and is now a full-time knife making artist. He has been a member of the South African Knifemakers Guild since 1985 and one of the three members of the prospective member evaluation committee. Today he only makes folders and automatics using the best exotic materials such as mammoth ivory, pearl, Damascus and Damasteel. All his folders have fileworked liners and backstraps, each folder has a jewel inlaid somewhere on the knife as well as in the thumbstud. We at the KnifeCenter are proud to offer you his beautiful creations.
