My new favourite toy (Yes with a 'u' because I'm English)
I have been meaning to get a new Japanese wet stone since I left behind the one I picked up in Japan when I moved to Singapore. They are hard to find and crazily expensive in Singapore so I went without one for a while until I saw this one on the Knife Center site. It is now my new favourite toy. Fantastic value for money and a pleasure to work with. I have sharpened just about everything in the house since I got it a couple of weeks ago. After I had touched up all my own knives I started on the kitchen draw and now my wife is frightened to use half of its contents.

Great Stone, does it all.
This is my go to stone for all sharpening: kitchen/chef's knives, boning knives, sport and carry knives. It cuts, quickly, doesn't load with metal and is easy to clean, and gives a really sharp edge. I own a retail meat shop (and shave with a straight razor) so I can confidently say that unless a knife is badly damaged (in which case use a machine) or your sharpening a razor (a finer stone would be better) this is all you need for hand sharpening. Thick heavy stone is very stable during use.
