Their ongoing commitment is to make the best knives possible, make them in America and make them affordable. Bear & Son wants everybody to be able to afford what they are proud to make!
Wood Handles
Provides a traditional, natural look and feel to a modern tool. Wood absorbs shock well and is popular in axe handles.
Lockback
The lockback system has been used for many decades. It can usually be found on the knife spine and it provides a strong lockup that will wear well.

Pros: Blade Material, Blade Sharpness, Handle Feel, Handle Material
Cons: Ease of Opening, Lock Ease of Use, Lock Type, Overall Quality
Knife is dangerous. Very difficult to close.
Knife is virtually impossible to close. Only way to close it initially was to put it on a flat surface keeping it away from fingers and press blade against surface. Not sure what's going on with Bear & Son - they used to make a decent knife.Stay away from this model.
Bear & Son 205R Lockback Folder 3.75" Closed, Rosewood Handles
I've decided to branch out from the Case, Schrade, and Buck knifes and try another style and have gone happily to Bear and Son. Bought three and am happy with all three. I've just got them in. This one has the rosewood handles and bolsters that make it very appealing. It also has a delightful shape and size. Blade is sharp. It's easy to hold and use and does the intended job.The locking mechanism is perfect. Lockback style knife is my preference. My new EDC. Have another Bears and Son I like but I like this one is a little bit better. Im going to switch between this and the other Bear and Son that I bought but this one might be the primary for a good while. Yeap diffininly recommend this one.
