Simply breathtaking
When hunting deer, the very first task requiring a knife is coring. This involves cutting a circular section of the soft yet tough skin around the anus to remove the rectum. For this task, I have always relied on the Trapper. Featuring a thin clip-point blade for cutting through the skin and a spade blade for removing the rectum without rupturing the bladder, the Trapper is the perfect knife for this job. I’ve used Remington and Case Trappers in the past. While they served their purpose well, being slip-joint knives, the blade would often start to retract in the middle of complex movements. I’d long thought, “It would be great if there were a lockback-style Trapper,” but I couldn’t find one. But I finally found this knife. As soon as I got it, I was impressed—just as others have noted in their reviews—by how smoothly the blade retracts. Yet once locked, there is absolutely no play. This is truly the work of German craftsmanship. Furthermore, my experience testing this knife for the first time during a recent deer hunt was nothing short of shocking. Its overwhelming sharpness was far beyond anything a Remington or Case could offer. The soft, slippery yet hard-surfaced skin tissue accepted the blade’s edge as easily as if I were cutting wet paper. My hunting companions, who were watching me work, all exclaimed in unison, “What incredible sharpness!” But I was probably the most surprised of all. It was truly spectacular. I can say this with certainty: this is the greatest trapper knife humanity has ever held. As long as hunters exist in this world, it must continue to be made forever. I refuse to believe this knife will ever be discontinued, but I’ve come back here to buy another one. It will be for my son.

Perfect Classic Pocket Knife
Having collected knives of all sorts for over 60 years, I must say that this knife is THE best made classic trapper I have ever owned or handled for that matter. The other reviews are spot on with the ease of operation and the quality, which is superb! you can tell that the employees assembling these knives take great care to ensure they are PERFECT before they leave the factory. And the D2 steel cannot be beat. Pictures being what they are, my handle is slightly lighter in color towards red than is pictured which is fine, but it IS genuine jigged bone and not a plastic substitute for which I am grateful. My Very First knife was a Tree Brand 3 bladed Stockman that I still have and this Trapper will surely accompany me for the rest of my days. Buy it before they quit making it!

Beautiful Dbl lock lock blade trapper
Added to my collection of trapper models. 1st German made trapper and what a bargain! Beautiful polished bone handle and blades perfectly centered up in slots! Really nice perfect spring pulls and snaps open and closed. Locking blades is just a little bit of insurance that you can use it without worrying about accidentally closing on your fingers.
