Great Knife I Keep Picking to Carry
I bought mine back in January. And since then 90% of the time, I grab this to put in my pocket. I have about 40 Case knives and many other brands as well. I use to rotate my carry knife. I still do somewhat. But the Sod buster Jr. is normally one of them. If I only carry one, it is the Jr. I went away for a week and I purposely didn't take it. I took 4 different Case knives to chose from each day. All week I wish I had the Jr. There's nothing wrong with the ones I took. I have just grown to love this knife. And the other knife I wish I had with me was one of my Peanuts. I often carry the Jr. and one of my peanuts. That is all the knives I need. I buy others and will continue to. But it will take a special knife to replace my Jr. as my main EDC. Fit and finish is perfect. It was not very sharp. But that doesn't bother me as I always put my own edge on any knife I plan on carrying. Case has been working on improving some of the fit and finish issues that people have been having. But it takes time for us to see changes as the older inventory gets sold and fresh stuff finally gets in stores. And I have seen it improving over the past year. The blade steel is better than people think. They go by the type of steel and don't even try them. But the most important thing for blade sharpness and retention is the heat treat. You can have a middle of the road steel, but give it the best heat treatment that steel can get and it will outperform a better steel with a not so good heat treatment. And Case has nailed the heat treatment of their knives.
