Description
GSK12021: Minokuni Mamori Higonokami - Hammered Bronze Stainless Steel
G. Sakai
Manufactured in Seki City, Japan, the G. Sakai Minokuni Mamori Higonokami is a stunning, premium take on the classic Japanese friction folder. While traditional Higonokami knives are historically simple working tools, G. Sakai elevates the design into a highly collectible piece of functional art. The 3.13" clip point blade features a premium San Mai construction with a high-performance VG-10 stainless steel core clad in supportive outer stainless steel. The flats of the blade showcase a beautiful, rugged hammered (tsuchime) finish, contrasting cleanly with the polished, razor-sharp flat grind. Operating via a traditional tang lever (chikiri), this friction folding knife has no locking mechanism, relying instead on hand pressure on the lever during use to keep the blade open. Complementing the blade, the handle is crafted from stainless steel with a rich, hammered bronze finish that provides excellent texture and a sophisticated, antiqued appearance. It comes complete with a traditional woven Nishijin pouch (patterns may vary) to protect the knife during pocket carry or storage.
