J66: 1937 Special Coiffeur Straight Razor - Black
Thiers-Issard Razors

A-275-6/8-SC-PB Half-Hollowed Professional Range Straight Razor. Forged from 100% carbon steel, 275 both sides are satin polished with a rounded nose. Anti-slip jimping on the lower side of the tang. Ships in a black soft calf leather pouch.

All Thiers-Issard razors are manufactured since 1884 with the best steel in the world - C135. Always thoroughly dry your razors after use and ensure that they are free from moisture (blade and handle) when storing them. Thiers-Issard blades are made from 100 % carbon steel which is the best quality steel but does rust if not kept dry. For occasional use, the blade should be covered with vaseline.

All razors are shave-ready. All razors are packed in a leather pouch and in a printed "THIERS-ISSARD" white cardboard box with instructions for use.

Best Bang For Buck
I’ve been using straight razors to shave with for over 10 years and the TI razors IMO are the best shaving mass produced razors you can buy today (yes, waaaaay better than ANY of the German ones). And this particular one is a “half hollow” grind meaning it’s even more comfortable on your face when you get the edge right on your sharpening stones. Also, this is the best price I’ve seen for this particular razor. I send all of my YT followers and customers here for this razor for their best first razor or for advanced guys.

Very Nice
Very nice razor. Just like the instructions said I shaved with it about 4 times without even stropping in on my hanging leather and it performed beautifully. I like the extra bit of weight that the 6/8 and half hollow grind give it.

Solid shaver, shave ready
I ordered this from KC, so as to have another straight to use in rotation. When it arrived, the "directions" from Thiers Issard suggested not even stropping it until it had been used at least 3 or 4 times. Although somewhat skeptical, I tried it and they weren't kidding. This is an excellent shaver, and really was shave ready. It's not gorgeous but does a very good job on my medium beard, and is part of my regular rotation with two Dovos. Like one of the other reviewers suggested, it would probably be a good starter straight razor, as it is more forgiving than a 5/8 full hollow ground. Vivre la France!
