This "no set-up" mandoline slicer produces perfect slices in 4 different widths: 0.5mm, 1.3mm, 2.0mm and 3.0mm. Easy to use: turn dial on back for paper thin, thick and very thick slices. Safe-no blades to switch out. Use the corner notches to secure the slicer on top of bowls. Included handguard holds food securely and protects fingers. Blade: advanced ceramic. Handguard: ABS plastic. Handle: ABS resin. Dishwasher safe. Made in Japan.

Can't go wrong
This is the first ceramic bladed product I've ever owned -- I thought Kyocera only made copiers! The ceramic blade is razor sharp and deceptively innocent looking. The mandoline is very simple to operate. There are no bells or whistles but if you're looking for paper-thin veggies, this is the way to get them. I like the flexibility and convenience of it -- pull it out of the drawer, dial in the thickness, and you're slicing in half a minute.
