KS5150: 5150 Lucha Butterfly Knife

Kershaw Knives

Do you flip? Do you want to flip? Then the Kershaw Lucha is for you. This is a high-quality butterfly knife that's made in the USA. Next level materials include a 14C28N stainless steel blade and an all-steel handle. Next-level performance comes from Kershaw's meticulous design. For instance, the blade tapers so that the top has more weight to pendulum around smoothly. The Lucha features dual KVT ball-bearing pivots for extra-easy operation. The handle has a rounded bevel so it rolls effortlessly in the hand. Even the latch is rounded so it never catches as you flip. The latch also features a positive stop so it never contacts the blade. The full-sized Lucha was designed with feedback from real flippers. This light, fast butterfly knife will jump, fly, and spin in your hands.

Pretty good but too big
Quality, performance, fit/finish all good as expected. A little larger than expected - too big for my taste.

Kershaw Lucha
The Kershaw Lucha is an entry to mid-level balisong. It's a bit on the heavy side do to the all-steel construction of the knife and handles. For the pivots Kershaw decided to go with steel ball bearings instead of washers or bushings. Now if you want you can swap out the handles for after market mods made of either aluminum or titanium that is if you can find them and there are ceramic bearings for it as well. I won't be attempting any tricks with it other than the most basic ones, for that I'd need a trainer and preferably a lighter knife. Overall it's a well constructed knife and I believe, Kershaw's first attempt at a balisong. I would liked to have seen a higher grade steel at this price, which has apparently gone up in the short few years since it was first released.
