Uncle Henry Next Gen pocket knives are crafted using solid brass liners and fittings, rugged Next Gen realistic Staglon handles, and 7Cr17MoV high carbon stainless steel blades. This means you get a durable knife that you aren't constantly applying oil to prevent from rusting. 7Cr17MoV is a reasonably hard steel that will hold an edge well and possesses great corrosion-resistant properties. The Sr. Rancher is a traditional folding knife that features 3 different blades to help you get the job done and is larger than the standard Rancher.

Disappointing right out of the box.
Received this knife last week. At first, I thought the main blade spring was weak, as the blade did not close all the way, leaving the point "proud", but I finally figured out that the main blade was rubbing so badly on the sheepsfoot blade that it hung the main blade up, and I had to push it down to fully close the blade. And the shield is dented, and crooked. I can't fix the shield, but I managed to bend the sheepsfoot blade just a tiny bit, and that allows the main blade to close without pushing it down. Also, the grinds on the edges of the blades are uneven and the angles are not right. I would not have bought this knife if I'd known all this beforehand. I don't buy new knives and then have to make them functional.

Oh, I forgot to mention that the shield is a little bent, like you can see where the machine pressed it down and dented it a little.

Disappointing right out of the box.
It looks like the picture, though the color brown of the handle scales is not quite accurate (the picture is a little more yellow than in real life). The handle scales and springs do not show gaps, the pins look about right for a Chinese pocketknife in this price range. The blades did not come sharp. Some blade rub. The grind on the spey blade is uneven. The spey blade and the sheepsfoot blade have pretty good snap and close as they should. The real disappointment is the clip point blade. It does not fully close on its own and stays little "proud" unless pushed down. It will snap closed but, closing it gently, the blade is reluctant to close fully. The spring is weak there or the base of the blade is not properly shaped. I expected much better, even at this price range, as I have a Taylor made Old Timer Lumberjack and it's much better in all areas. I definitely would not buy this knife again, that weak closing on the main blade ruins the whole thing. It makes it seem really cheaply made and not suitable to the purpose. I don't what a proud blade point in my pocket or I might get cut.
