The mid-sized Tenacious has a black G-10 laminate handle, milled with prolonged fatigue-free cutting in mind. Tucked inside are skeletonized steel liners increasing the handle's rigidity and strength without adding non-functioning weight or bulky thickness. The 8Cr13Mov stainless blade is leaf-shaped and ground flat from spine to cutting edge for cutting performance. The blade's shape coupled with an oversized Spyderco Round Hole and textured spine jimping allow you to open the blade and position your thumb on the spine in slip-proof confidence ready for work. A Walker Linerlock (with jimped liner) and a 4-way pocket clip lets you set your carry and draw preference: Tip-up/tip-down left-hand/right-hand. Screw together construction.

I got this knife as replacement for lost Gerber knife I had for many years. In my research I came upon the Spyderco brand. The Tenacious fit my size and budget requirements. I love the quality and feel. It meets my everyday light duty needs. Knife Center was a great place to view such a large variety and styles of knives.

Nice feel in the hand, alignment is perfect out of the box as well as the sharpness. I don’t buy made in China knives but I really loved the feel and quality of this knife. After playing with it at the local knife shop a few times my wife surprised me with it. I’m glad she did. My first Spyderco and a great entry at a reasonable price. I’m really happy to have the Tenacious in my rotation.

It’s not the best of the best, but It is a dang good knife for just about everything you need in a folder. Great choice for a first locking folder, good knife to learn how to sharpen, lovely ergonomics, absolutely wonderful blade shape, very solid handle material, and you won’t cry to hard if it gets lost.
