Designed by personal-defense expert and Black.Belt.magazine Hall of Fame member Michael Janich, the Spyderco YoJumbo builds upon the success of his trendsetting Yojimbo 2, which set the standard for the tactical application of the classic Wharncliffe blade pattern. Scaling that design up by more than 20 percent and refining its ergonomics to fit a wider range of hand sizes, the newest expression of the YoJumbo also renders its dramatic straight-edged blade in Spyderco's proprietary CPM-SPY27 blade steel. This cobalt-enriched particle metallurgy stainless steel is exclusive to Spyderco knives and delivers an outstanding balance of toughness, edge retention, and corrosion resistance. The deeply hollow-ground blade of the YoJumbo takes full advantage of all these qualities. It includes a fully accessible Trademark Round Hole for swift, ambidextrous, one-handed opening, and as a symbol of the knife's Spyderco pedigree. The knife's open-backed handle is built on a framework of skeletonized stainless steel liners that minimize its weight while providing a solid foundation for its high-strength Compression Lock mechanism. The liners are nested within coarse peel-ply-textured G10 scales that proudly showcase a cobalt blue color - one of the signature colors of Spyderco's elite CPM-SPY27 family. To allow convenient carry and keep this incredibly capable knife poised for immediate access, the handle includes a four-position pocket clip that is configurable for tip-up or tip-down carry on either side of the body.
