Description
SP266ALP: C266ALP Edgerati, Plain Edge
Spyderco
The brainchild of Spyderco co-founder Sal Glesser, the Edgerati translates his deep interest in high-performance sports cars into a remarkable knife design. Its pierced, geometric handle was inspired by the frame of the legendary “birdcage” Maserati, which revolutionized sports car design. True to that spirit, the Edgerati’s handle scales are painstakingly machined from solid aircraft-grade aluminum and hardcoat anodized to create an exceptional blend of strength, lightweight, non-slip texture, and dramatic style. They also provide a view of the knife’s streamlined Compression Lock mechanism, which consists of a stainless steel lock bar nesting into a machined pocket in the obverse-side scale. The knife’s straight-spined, full-flat-ground blade is crafted from CPM-S30V particle metallurgy stainless steel. Available in both PlainEdge and SpyderEdge configurations, it features a textured index-finger choil that allows a forward-positioned grip for enhanced control. The Edgerati’s broad-based pocket clip is reversible for left or right-side tip-up carry and complements the blade’s fully accessible Trademark Round Hole to allow swift, positive deployment with either hand.
Pocket Clip
Includes a pocket clip for easy accessibility and a more secure carry.

First five minutes
Open & closing is butter: smooth and liner feel. I don't know why but watching the lock engagement and releasing is just satisfying. Not heavy but not feather weight. The pictures all make the proportions look wrong, it really is a nice piece of work. Glad I got it :-)

Lightweight bruiser
I’m a guy with X-Large hands so I’m always on the lookout for larger knives! This one definitely fits my needs and it’s a lot, lot lighter than my other larger knives to where I really don’t notice it in the pocket. I’m also normally prefer a liner lock, frame lock, but I really don’t mind the Compression lock on this one.
