Description

SPBY23GP: BY23GP byrd Tern

byrd by Spyderco

The non-locking Tern folder's blade is held in the open position during cutting by a notched-joint at the knife’s pivot. When closing the blade, the notch produces resistance functionally similar to a traditional slip-joint penknife. A deep finger choil jogs the index finger into position on the bottom of the blade directly under the thumb. Placing the index finger in the choil, the finger acts as a stop, inhibiting the blade from closing when cutting and allows the user to choke-up closer to the cutting edge with comfort and dexterity. Leaf-shape blade is full flat-ground. The handle is G-10.

Great Slipit
A few hours ago I got my hands on the Byrd Tern, my first impression of this knife was its build quality and its great pocket clip. The G10 found on this knife is just grippy enough, if it was grippier it would wreck your pocket very quickly. In comparison to other slip joints its a bit stiff.

Awesome knife
My favorite edc. The price is perfect. The blade is incredibly sharp. The inability to lock the blade takes some time to get use to but it works for easy tasks. My clip was a bit loose when I received it and the blade doesn't open as fast as other Spyderco knives I own. Overall, high quality knife for a faction of the price.
