An industry staple and, for many people, the gateway to higher-end knives, a slipjoint transports you back to a time when simplicity and reliability were paramount. Tactile has been friends with Jared Oeser for a while and, when it finally came time to collaborate on a design, he came through with an atypical, complex pivot and dash of modern design. After Jared made the first prototype he showed to his neighbor and good friend who is an Army Ranger, hence the name.

Classic Design Meets Modern Production

With its unique manufacturing style and small-batch workflow, the Ranger blurs the lines between production and custom slipjoints. Each Ranger is meticulously assembled, with the blade, backspring, and handles hand-ground for a seamless fit. Afterward, the components are disassembled, marked, and the handles are finished before being reassembled with their original parts for a precise match.

Inspired by a custom knife from Jared Oeser, the Ranger is dialed to a smooth 6-7 pull, delivering the perfect walk and talk for a refined user experience.
