Probably the best Sharpening stone I've ever owned.....

I first tried this stone out on a knife that has seen a lot of work. The edge was dull and I couldn't seem to put a good one on it no matter how many times I sharpened it. This stone worked great and put a razor sharp edge on my blade!!! I honestly cannot think of a single flaw with this stone, it has worked great so far. It's nothing too fancy, just a plain sharpening stone with a soft/hard stone on either side...but it will definetly get the job done, whether you have a $40.00 blade or $140.00 blade.

For the price it is hard to beat

For the price it is hard to beat, you get two stones, and a sharping guide that's pice of plastic. I threw away the guide for a couple of reasons, first the stone is two short to use it and second I bought these stones so i could learn how to use a wet stone. For this stone do not plan to sharpen a blade over 3 1/2" because it will be a pain in the butt. For larger knives larger stones are needed.

Quality with a low price!

I originally purchased this as a gift to my 11 year-old son as part of a extensive knife related birthday. I figured at the cost, even if he dropped it and cracked or chipped a stone it wouldn't be a great loss. After he opened it for his birthday he had to try it out on the Opinel #6 he got as well. A few strokes later and it was razor sharp. Being excited and proud, he wanted me to try it on my trusty Peasant, and though it needed a bit of a touch up, it wasn't dull. I humored him, and found it to be higher quality than my stones. Needless to say, I'm about to push the "Proceed to Checkout" button to order my own.
