An excellent introduction.

I saw this knife recommended to me one night while just doing my regular rounds on my knife websites. It kind of was an impulse by due to my love of D2 and Carbon Fibre. The summed up version is that being the first Artisan knife I had purchased, I was in the mood for something, "cleaver" style and I certainly got it. The knife is rather beefy, but the balance is superbly distributed. The flipper style open is a GEM, I was truly impressed with how smooth it was (and is) out of the box. The carbon fibre is great, the D2 blade seemingly has really good heat treat and is standing up well. I took the knife to my Edge Pro Apex, polishing it to 6,000 grit and whilst some spots took some time to even out I am overall very pleased by how sharp this got considering the thick stock. I will easily be looking into more Artisan knives, seriously an excellent introduction to this company. The only issue I had is the pocket clip, which I have to be honest is fine, but it did bend hard on me when it snagged on my work stool back when I was sitting down. That was obviously somewhat my fault and I did fix it easy enough, just something the buyer should be aware about.
