Initial impressions after some outdoor testing
TLDR: It feels like a wharncliffe ESEE-6. When I was choosing a knife to replace a cold steel srk as my new work knife, I was trying to keep an open mind about what knife I got, as long as it had: a fine enough tip for precise cutting, a hard sided sheath, and geometry that lends itself to chopping thumb/finger thick branches/alders. The tomahawk fixed blade fit the bill. The length and weight-forward blade design give it an incredible swing speed with lots of momentum. It cleanly cuts through 1" thick branches and can cleave off multiple smaller spruce branches in a single swing. The tip is actually a good balance of strength and fineness even for bushcrafting. The blade material is a good choice for performance and affordability and will sharpen easily. The fit and finish is very high quality with details like shaped g10 w/liners, sharp edge with very straight grinds and chamfered edge torx screws for the scales. The lanyard is just the right size for a L/XL hand, and the sheath has an adjustable one position belt clip left or right, so carry height is changeable but no horizontal carry. Overall I'd recommend anybody looking for an unorthodox survival/forest knife give this a try.
