Lightweight Hatchet
I bought this to replace the hatchet I've been using since my Boy Scout days 50+ years ago. I bought it because it is made in the USA and my impression of Knives of Alaska is positive. The hatchet is handsome and well-made but much lighter than I expected. (I should have looked more closely at the dimensions.) For use on small-diameter wood it is fine as long as you swing hard. For heavier jobs and larger size wood think it would be too light. It would be a great hatchet to have backpacking due to its light weight.
