Exactly what it claims to be, well built at a modest price

I found this little device to be quite useful -- and of high enough quality to use as stocking stuffers for people I really like. I won't rehash the other reviews, except to point out that the build quality is excellent, and that it is exactly as it appears -- a light but substantive keychain with a very useful little blade recessed within it.

In contrast to the one star review...

I will say, there are some slight ergonomic areas for improvement. However, I find them to be less inconvenient than the other reviewer (at the time of writing this, there is only one other reviewer and he gave it a scathing one star). If I had one request, it would be to forego the false edge grind on the top of the blade. Leaving it a touch thicker there would make it a bit less uncomfortable when using it as an impromptu box cutter. To address the previous reviewer saying nobody will ever use it, I use it at least every other day. It's convenient because I always have it, it's sharp and tough enough that it can complete most small cutting jobs with ease, it's light enough to be unnoticed on my keychain, and it's cheap enough that I'm not worried about it getting damaged it messed up. It's saved my $200 benchmade from box cutting duty probably a hundred times. To address the size and design issues of the previous reviewer, I'd say that I wouldn't want it smaller. It's about perfect for me. It fulfills a spot similar to a small SAK, but I find the flat form factor to be better than the capsule-like shape of a victorinox. It sits in my pocket better, and it allows a blade with a little more meat than the typical pen knife provides. As for wanting a more full tang design.... Well... It's not a bushcraft knife. It's a tiny blade for tiny jobs, not sure why a deeper tang would be needed, and it keeps weight down. I prefer the clip to be on the knife portion because it seems less likely to be inadvertently released, and fishing in my pocket for a free blade doesn't sound appealing. Look, this is a small, unobtrusive blade made from quality materials, it has great fit and finish (a d2 blade that could almost count as a mirror polish, I mean c'mon), it's never once come loose from it's sheath unless I wanted it to, and it's sharp. D2 is a fantastic steel, so despite being ultrathin it has quite a degree of toughness and holds an edge surprisingly well. I'm about to buy another one when they are back on sale and not just "coming soon." Honestly, the only thing holding me off from five stars is the false edge grind on top. Get rid of that and it's a solid 5 from me. Oh, and if you're anything like me, you'll use it a lot.

Pretty cool

Pretty cool knife. I keep it next to my entry way table to open packages and mail. I like the color and it is fun and satisfying to use and have around. However, it did not last long on my keychain. The knife finger groove is rather thin (not comfortable to use), really short handle, packaged inefficiently, and has enough hollow space that my keys hitting the sheath would make a hollow plastic drum sound. It was kind of unsatisfying for that application, which is unfortunate since that’s what I want a solution for. I like the idea of it, I just wish that it was packaged more efficiently for its size and didn’t make the hollow noise. Would be nice if it was ambidextrous opening too. However, for the price I am really happy with it still. I only gave it 4 stars because I want a keychain knife. If this was marketed for my eventual application, I’d have given it 5 stars.

Unwieldy, essentially useless

Good steel, construction is OK, design is abysmal. Improvement ideas: - Make the blade less tall but a bit longer. - Put the part that pushes in (the button) on the (cheaper to replace) sheath. - Also, the button would be much more natural on the sheath. - Also the button being on the sheath would mean not dragging fingers across the blade. - Make the entire knife smaller. It is way too big for a keychain unless you are willing to carry a big keychain, in which case you are willing to carry a bigger knife. - The grip, even using Mr. Andersen's pinch grip advice, is so bad the knife is essentially useless. For a knife like this it doesn't have to be a great grip, just something that lets you use the knife to cut rather than working at controlling it. - The length is OK, though a little shorter would be an improvement. - Extend the steel further into the plastic. - Have less of sheath and more 'handle' on the blade part. Keep the materials and the construction, those seem well done. Not enough to rate higher than a 1 since the knife is almost certain to never be used.
