Feels Great in the Hand and Qualifies as a Work of Art

I ordered both the 3.1 inch and 4.0 inch models of the Al Mar. My apologies to the Knife Center staff. When they say they can get you a product in 3 to 4 days, they actually CAN do that!!! Thank you, Knife Center staff. Aside from the beauty of this product and that it fits so well in my hand, in actuality, it really can do work. The build quality is top drawer. It is as solid as it looks and they came out of the box just as sharp as they can make them. No blade play to be found. I have carried a pocket knife since I was a kid some 75 years ago because I consider knives to be a tool. I buy knifes for utility and these two will accompany me into my back 35 acres where maintenance work is almost always needed. I value light weigh and a solid build for pruning tree branches, shrubbery, and fence work in addition to my trusty Fence Tool. I won't be cutting down any trees with my Al Mars :-) but they will be a valuable addition to my tool set that I use daily. And it sure doesn't hurt that it looks good enough to be in my non-work cloths, as well. I don't think you will be disappointed in this product.

Absolutely amazing

carry this knife asolutly everywhere with me, flips open nice and crisp. never accidentally opens. easily sharpened and stays sharp from the factory for a very long time. the clip may need to be tightened after a couple years of daily use like mine but that is expected. frame lock stays locked and never slips. its a skinnier knife so if you have huge fingers you may want to go a size up for the frame lock. By far my favorite knife and plan on ordering more in the future!

Neat design with poor implementation

This is a neatly designed mid-length knife that has a decent feel to it and flips open nicely. Closing it is a different story. The body is very narrow and it is extremely difficult to get good purchase on the frame lock to disengage. The pocket clip isn't very good either. It's a deep carry clip, but the gap at the top of the clip is so narrow that it can't slide all the way down on your jeans pocket. The shortcomings are disappointing, because a bit more testing and design tweaks could have made for a fun knife at no extra cost.
