Amazing

I have previously owned several swords ranging from $20 mtech to $600 katanas. None of them were anything compared to this apoc sword. It is well balanced, has a completely solid handle, and just the right length to be effective but easy to carry. The sheath is some type of plastic but it’s solid and simple. I can’t imagine it ever breaking unless you hit it with a sledgehammer. The blade is full tang 9260 spring steel which is arguably one of the very best steel types for swords. There are minor flaws in the black oxide finish but that simply gives it character in my opinion. This sword screams quality but simplicity. If the world fell apart this is exactly what I would want in my possession. You can pay hundreds or thousands for a fancy katana that’s too long to be carrying and too pretty to even want to use... or you could get this apoc sword for wayyy less money and have a simple, extremely well made, quality survival weapon.

A Superb Value!

I've owned several swords over many decades. Some were more beautiful. Others had more historical or sentimental value. This is one I'd actually use to defend my castle, family or my garden. It's easily stronger than any of my other swords. It's size and shape makes it quick handling and convenient to carry. Others have complained of its coarse edge grind or its blocky handle. These are matters that can be easily addressed by anyone who could actually use this tool. Better a little too much material than not enough. I'm truly impressed that this much quality can be purchased at such a reasonable price!

Great potential

This sword has great potential if you put some work into it. The sword I received is slightly warped towards the tip of the blade. The edge grinds are a little wavy. I don’t believe these blades are inspected before shipping so be aware. I own two other apoc swords and both are perfect. I’d send this one back, but I can fix the issues present. That all aside this sword handles great and is well balanced. I plan on redoing the edge grinds and will clean up and polish the blade and cold blue the steel. I will also polish the g10 scales. With some work these blades can be awesome and make the price tag a plus if you don’t mind a project. The steel is good quality and durable. It’s rough out of the box which to some may be an issue. The scabbard is strong and does its job of retaining the blade quite well. I’d recommend to knifecenter thst they inspect each blade before sending them out. That would eliminate the lemons getting out. My other two apoc swords were purchased elsewhere and both came perfectly straight. 🤷‍♂️

Awesome for the money

I love this short sword. Its thicker than I imagined, yet it's still quick for snap cuts. I wish Dragon king would offer this same fullered blade with a two-handed setup. The fullers are well ground, the blade is straight, the fittings are tight, like other reviews may mention, you'll want to file or polish the grip slabs to remove hotspots. This blade is tanky and I'm not worried about slamming into tree limbs. Hacks through maple limbs with little force. Blade came sharp-ish with some burrs here and there, took about 10 minutes to bring things to a serviceable edge. I recommended this if you've ever sharpened a double edge before.

One of the best for the price

The sword is very sturdily constructed and it feels like I’d struggle to break it if I wanted to. The sheath is well made with a minimal amount of rattling. The handle is somewhat square-ish and kind of uncomfortable so I rounded it out with some sand paper. Also thrusting is somewhat painful because the guard digs into you hand. I rounded that out to but I may wrap it because it still hurts somewhat. Balance is good but the sword is a little on the heavy side for its side. However the extra mass contributes to this swords virtual invulnerability. The steel also is good and it holds an edge better than I thought and better than comparable swords. If there was a second generation I would like to see it be a little lighter and perhaps have some of the g10 cover the guard so that thrusting is more comfortable. All in all very high bang for your buck and I’m not aware of many other swords in this price range that have the handling a sword should have while also being nigh unbreakable aside from I’d assume the rest of the apoc line.
