Heavy Duty Tank-Sword
Heavy! That is my initial impression of this blade. It’s got plenty of mass. The weight in the hand is so impressive that one might not believe that the blade actually tapers, getting thinner towards the point. The double edged blade is sharp out of the box though there was a “toothy” portion on each edge but nothing a few strops with a ceramic rod couldn’t remedy. The handle is blocky but comfortable, no hot spots. The black finish on the blade is not very resilient. Simply drawing the blade from the scabbard a few times has already started to strip the finish off at the contact points. The scabbard itself is junk. A firm squeeze of the hand to the walls of the scabbard produces small crackling sounds that warn of total failure if any real pressure were applied to it. Stepping on the scabbard by accident would almost certainly destroy it. The blade is more than sturdy. If you like overbuilt tank-swords, this one’s for you. Though consider a custom sheath to replace the inadequate scabbard.
