Just an FYU for newbies!!!!

Tomahawks like this are made so that the handle comes out of them if they are thrown and hit wrong to keep from breaking as well as being made to carve out your own handle if you find yourself in the woods and you happen to break the handle. It is NOT made to stay in permanently like an axe or hatchet. They are friction fit handles which means they only stay in by friction only and if made or tooled right will give a very nice tight fit and will only come out if you make it.come out.

Revolutionary War Tomahawk review

I ordered these hawks because we go to Mountain Man Rendezvous and these will certainly fit right in. They come ground flat, no edge whatsoever. The handle doesn't look like a standard hawk handle, so you won't want to throw these and risk breaking the handle. Knife Center offers several great hawks from Cold Steel for throwing. Check them out if that's what you are after. These hawks are a great choice for the authentic look!
