Very nice stone
I like this stone, a recent purchase, and I used it both dry and with water. It is not a finishing stone though. I would buy the larger stone with the wooden case. It is an in-between stone, very effective. I polished the edges of my knifes with the Arkansas translucent oil stone. I was sharpening a variety of knives, Bucks, Brownings, Kershaw, Rough Rider, Case and Spydercos with excellent results. A new Bear Cutlery Damascus steel knife had a wide bevel on the edge and this stone was very useful in the process of hand honing to an angle I prefer.
