Big and heavy as you can go and still use for concealed carry.

Excellent product. Snaps open easily after a little use and a push of Cap closes it. Locks open tight. Its not light but not heavy. Go lighter or less reach and you really have to question its utility. It is smaller and lighter than a 21 inch baton. Clip can be useful but in now way is it holding it in a pocket. Little heavy for pocket carry.

Love it and shipped fast!

The click to unlock is a dream come true. Love the knurling on the metal barrel. Not too fat a diameter. The smaller version, the friction lock 16, will fit in a jean pocket and is good anti knife insurance. This is bigger and better if you are worried about wild dogs and such. I found a leather knife sheath for a six inch blade and it fit great. Ordered Sunday night, free US Post Office shipping, arrived Wednesday! Great service as always.

Stronger Heavier More Durable A50

I will use this product as a concealed carry baton where a full size ASP Talon isn't feasible. This baton is 100% steel construction in all three sections unlike the original A50. This means the Steel A50 is much heavier than the original and is significantly more durable. I test my batons before I carry them on a 100 lb. heavy bag wrapped in 10 layers of heavy canvas sheeting. the Steel A50 performed like an ASP Talon in that it took 30 full force jabs tip to the bag without the disk locks failing, and 50 full force strikes without the mid shaft warping. While the original Aluminum A50 is a great ultra light baton it did not survive the above test. The Steel A50 has the required length to perform all baton techniques with efficiency. It does have a very small striking surface which is something to consider if you are law enforcement. I am not a fan of the clip that comes with the baton, but that is easily removed.

Perfect tool

Finally! After buying and trying cheaper batons, having to bang them on concrete to close, sticky operation, cheap feel, I bought the ASP. Fantastic, silky smooth, push button close, lifetime warranty no matter what, a perfect tool. Buy once, cry once, and get on with it. Don’t skimp on security.
