Perfect

I like single-blade knives, and I wanted a light, well-made EDC for non-field use. The Bear Peanut meets that goal perfectly. Great spring, sharp out of the box, easy to keep that way, and it looks great with the Rosewood handle. The KC price is stunning. The weight enables me to not feel the knife in my pocket, yet it can handle routine tasks very well. Solid buy.

Great daily user

I bought this knife several years ago, and carry it daily. It is small enough to carry in dress slacks, but is sharp, and sturdy and always there when I need it. I abuse knives--when I'm not in an office, I work on my small farm. It takes a very good edge, and holds it better than most knives, even those that cost lots more. The only shortfall in my mind is the lack of a lock. Otherwise, this little knife is perfect for all those small jobs that come up every day when you're not in the field.

What a deal

I was so surprised with the quality of this knife. I would have paid 3 times the amount of what I paid. I will be ordering another Bear cutlery knife sometime this week. I am just so happy with this buy!! One of my favorite knives.

Decent basic pocket dweller

I bought this because I'm too fussy to use my good knives! It's a fairly basic job, you can definitely tell it was hand made, for better or worse. The quality is definitely "pocket working" style, not collecting...which is just what i wanted. You can see some tooling marks, slightly rough assembly, even fingerprints right from the factory. There was a bunch of metal or assembly dust in mine, which made the opening feel pretty bad. I put a couple of liberal applications of WD-40, then Boeshield, then finally "Super Slick Stuff" lubricant and it finally started feeling better. I think it needed to have all the dirt flushed out of it. Now it opens much smoother, although there's none of the sharp click-click-open snap-open feel like you'd have in, say, a good Boker. It's lightweight though and you honestly don't know it's in your pocket, but handy when you need it. Carbon 440 blade I believe, so should be easy to sharpen. Overall, for the price, I think it's a good deal and it's nice to see a hand-made knife made in the U.S.A., especially at this price.

Made in the USA

The knives are going to be gifts to my sons. I wanted to give them knives they could use on a daily basis that would be small and not cumbersome. Bottom line is this knife was made in the USA.
