Perfect EDC

This Bear and Son knife is perfect for skinning of course, but can be used for most other light duty tasks. The knife carries well and is lightweight. The fit and finish on the knife I received is outstanding, comes with a very nice leather sheath as well. Best of all, made in the USA!

Great Knife if made in USA

Here’s another Great Bear and Son knife. I've had a few of these over the years. This one’s made in the USA, but watch out—they’ve been gradually moving away from American manufacturing and outsourcing jobs to China. It’s a bummer when greed kicks in, and even companies like Case are getting in on it.

Bear & Son Upswept Skinner

The knife is mainly used for skinning coyotes, foxes, and bobcats. My Bear knife really holds a decent edge. And I am really impressed with the high quality put in this little knife. Another plus is it is made right here in the USA. I plan on buying a few more Bear knives in the future.

Poor quality

I was planning on using this for general camping and light skinning use. However, I received the knife with a crack and a chunk missing from the choil all the way to the top of the handle scales. If this were the only problem, I'd call it a single quality control miss. However, the handle scales were not fitted around the tang, either too small or too large, depending on the location, in some cases by as much as 1/4 inch. Finally, the handle rivets were deeply set on one side and had been hand ground down to just barely flush with the scale on the other side. I'm returning this and buying a Sharpfinger, even if it's not made in America.
