Arrived razor sharp, superb action and appearance

Apparently Bear OPS listened to customer feedback over the years, because my Bear Song butterfly arrived razor-sharp. Love the appearance and the action of this knife, absolutely smooth and enjoyable. Also, given the tanto blade style, you can practice continually without having to worry about cutting yourself, so long as you keep the knife oriented in the same way. In any case, I am more of a collector than hard-core user so I don't have much reliability data to share, but the build quality seems top-notch in comparison to other knives I own. The price seems a good match for the quality and functionality.

Excellent

Long time knife steel guy, own both Lucha and this tanto blade version of bear song 8. No reviews here for this yet many for the other. I prefer this as it’s lighter and has been designed to not hurt as much. The lucha raised the normal hotspots a bit more. I really enjoy both blades especially in the sunlight. This one has a clip which I use and the other does not.

decent EDC

this knife shines in the EDC department. arrived with a dull and with a barely usable edge. however once proper sharpened, the blade steel holds a decent edge. the stainless steel handles feel solid. coupled with the pocket clip and spring latch, this knife falls short of being extraordinary by simply being too large. it feels like they couldn’t decide on whether to make this knife an EDC or a large sport flipper and fell marginally short on both ends. overall i have been very pleased with the knife despite its size and carry it exclusively as a work knife. it flips decently and has a similar feel to the kershaw lucha, but is definitely a no frills design. i am not typically a fan of this brand, but enjoy this model with its tanto blade configuration. in particular i like the spring latch and pocket clip features.

Great but could be better

I really like this knife and it is super fun, nice springy latch, rounded back, and smooth bearings. But the blade came quite dull and when I first opened the knife there was some odd debris on the blade but it was wiped off easy enough. Overall I love the Tanto shape and quality of this knife.
