Edge doesn't Cut,
It Severs. There is no push or pull to it, the blade just drops cleanly through the cut without moving off one spot on the edge. Anywhere on the edge. I work in meatpacking and prefer an edge this sharp. I also wear a chain mesh glove on my off hand. S90 is lacking the tungsten of 110 but it has the same amount of vanadium and more carbon than most any other crucible steel so it should hold this edge forever using a smooth steel rod. I do not like the alligator spine because it will make hotspots and require a toothbrush to clean after being used to take apart a deer. I would have put the humps on the underside like a set of finger grooves and frenched the liners flush with the valleys. I plan on dropping the scales and crowning the alligator spine and probably sandpapering the scales flush to the valleys for easier rinsing. The jimping is in the right locations for my fingers but the point is far enough away that it makes this a take the bones out of the quarters on the table knife rather than a take the hide off the hanging deer blade, which should have the tip closer to your fingertip. Like the Hidden Canyon hunter. Flat out hate the Kydex sheath and will replace it with the leather sheath that comes on the lower grade steel version of this blade. Overall satisfied enough that I will be ordering it's little brother to complete this set.
