highly recommend

It is evident Benchmade listened to customer feedback before revamping this model. It is a significant improvement over the older version. Well done!

Great in all ways except for 1

Everything good said is true, but I didn't like the feel of the handle. I thought it would be the very thing, but the tang bumps across the top feel odd to me. I wanted something grippy, but the handle feel too rubbery to me, and weirdly, i don't know, narrow. My old Gerber Gator handle what-ever material felt perfect and I expected this to be the same, but it was softer overall. And the blade was just a touch wider than I liked for maneuvering inside a deer. My likes are for a bit more point, pokey tip for a drop point. And seriously, that is MY TASTE ALONE, but might help you decide. The White River Backpacker Pro M1 still reigns supreme in my world of all-purpose premium deer gutter/skinner knives. Premium steel, American made and bright handles. Not much more expensive than this. Again, solely to my likes, uses and intentions.

Love the knife, hate the sheath!

I love this knife!! Love everything about the knife. Feels great in the hand and feels like it's ready to work. Lightweight, yet very durable and strong. Sharpness out of the box is next level, think razor blade. You would think that with the quality in this knife that the sheath would be up to the same standards. However, it is horrible!!! Feels like the blade is going to fall out at any moment. Rattles non stop and the retention is weak. I wouldn't buy this again just because of the sheath. Amazing knife that is made mediocre because of its sheath. For this price that is unacceptable!

Nice knife, horrible sheath

A nice, compact, lightweight, fixed blade knife. Excellent S30V steel that comes with a razor edge. Handle is comfortable to grip, but will be too small for large hands. Boltaron sheath holds knife securely and has a better feel to it than Kydex, although blade does make an annoying rattling sound in the sheath. Of greater concern is the fact that the belt loops on the sheath are one inch wide and therefore useless. I will be carrying this knife in my backpack, but I would much rather be able to carry it on my belt.
