McGee, you sniveling baby

Famtastic knife!!!! That McGee fool has NO IDEA what she is talking about. I can equip this in a blink of an eye. Amazing sheath. Love the double edge. I have a coyote version single edge. Blaee doesn't really hold an edge but THAT IS NOT WHAT IT IS MADE FOR. It is for stabbing not cutting paper.

Awesome and unique

I am writing this review just to balance out the one-star review by another person. He must not understand the use-case it was designed for. I have the longer version of this knife, and it's amazing. The grip is perfect, like nothing else in the market. - It is ambidextrous, because you don't know which hand will be available when you're fighting for your life. - It is equally comfortable facing down, with your pointer finger in the ring, or facing up, with your pinky in the ring. - It is super thin so that after you get some distance from your assailant you can draw your firearm without first dropping the knife. - it feels very sturdy, despite its thinness. - The point is sharp and very stabby. - It is designed to be worn on your molle rig as a last ditch repellant. No other carambit or fixed blade fits this niche as well as the SOPC.

Significantly Evolved.

I purchased this product as a "weak side" tool. This knife is vastly different from the original SOCP. The blade I received is shaving razor sharp on both edges. It is slimmer with the grind going to the centerline and the angle is not as steep as pervious models. The grip and overall size is perfect for an average sized person (not for the big fellas, sorry). I think the short blade length in comparison to the handle, actually gives you a lot more leverage and provides a lot of maneuverability. This knife can be used in a reverse grip, a forward or fencing grip, and as a push dagger, with the reverse grip being the most instinctive for the design. Defensive application is its obvious primary function. It has a lightening fast deployment into reverse grip, and naturally flows with a lot of pre-existing empty hand combative techniques. The knife is also designed to compliment a sidearm, and remain in the hand when the side arm is deployed, allowing for improved retention of both. It is highly unique and has a lot of benefits even compared to earlier versions of the SOCP design. It is important to remember this is a very specialized tool, and not a general purpose or bushcraft kind of knife. The sheath is a perfect pairing with the blade, the clip has significantly improved with two hooks to retain position on its mounting platform, and a tab that allows for easy of removal or adjustment at the very end of the clip. It comes with a leather pad that makes waistband carry bearable and protects you from knurled pommel. Things I don't like: I'm not a fan of 440C. I don't like the somewhat triangular hole directly below the blade, though it does provide grip.

Not what I expected

The finger ring makes holding this knife excruciatingly awkward and uncomfortable. It does not feel natural. The handle is too thin too. The sides of the blade are not sharp at all. I know it’s not meant as a slicer so much, but it can’t even cut paper. Absolutely dissatisfied and disappointed. I’m going to sell this to the first person I can. May have to sell at a loss. I have a lot of benchmade knives but this by far is the worst. Save your $110 (after tax) and maybe put it towards….(insert alternate knife you have been ogling here)
