Fantastic!

Action is ridiculously good and the red micarta is dead sexy. I wandered into REI 2 days ago and bought a Crooked River mini, but discovered the blade was loose on lockout - not a little left/right play, but up & down play. Took it right back and was going to go with a Freek instead, but was told by the sales guy - hey check this out, we just got these in today. Score! It was absolute butter out of the box. The thumb jimping isn't just on the blad, but also on the micarta and offers a stunningly solid & firm grip. Easy to deploy both gloved and not gloved. This is more of an outdoors/hunting knife and so blade is thicker and thus heavier than the Freek's @ .140 vs .114 in. This make the deploying flick all the more satisfying, but I wouldn't expect it to be the slicer that the Freek is. But since I have that covered w/ a Hogue RSK @ .094 in., I felt this was a better choice for me. It's not too heavy if you like a little heft and it is extremely well built (as opposed to the mini Crooked River). Comes with a deep pocket clip (thumbs up!). The handle feels great. Could maybe be a bit longer maybe. Feels substantial in the hand, but not too heavy. I'm very comfortable with an overbuilt hard-work knife. I will definitely be picking up the full-sized Adamas. I was in the Infantry as a young man and did a few deployments over the years. The full-sized Adamas would be what I would take today for a heavy folder. This is just a fantastic and delightful smaller version.
