Perfect Middle Weight

This is my first bench make, and I wanted strong knife with ambidextrous controls(I am left handed) I have several knives that have D2 steel, so I was confident of the blade steel. After I received the knife, I was very pleasantly surprised. I played around with the knife, to get used to the Axis lock and to break it in. Once I got used to the controls, I stroped the blade(habits, I strope all my new knives after I receive them)to polish the edge. Benchmade must put a really good heat treatment on their steel. I use this knife for my EDC the handle is awesome, and has a firm grip. However, the handle will eventually wear out your pocket, the handle is that grippy. I later got a Benchmade Bugout (a lighter, smaller, and flatter knife for a shirt pocket) The one handed Axis lock is a dream come true for a lefty. With gloves, sweaty hands, it doesn't matter, this knife won't leave your hand. the D2 Steel holds a very good edge for awhile. I will be getting this knife for a few of my friends as gifts, so they can enjoy a "Bucket List" Benchmade knife too.

Solid Black Class Knife

If you like the Griptilian you will like this. I was hesitant about the Grivory handles, but they are pretty solid and the knife is light as a result. Handle is nice and grippy, perfect size for my hands. If a deep carry is your thing, this is the deepest I have seen on a Benchmade, if you look at the pictures you will see it is a different style than other Benchmade knives. Blade deploys easily and is nice and snappy, it closes no problem using just the axis bar.

Light Polite Tactical EDC

The Redoubt is the opposite of the Adamas. This is not the overbuilt monster you take to "the Sandbox." It's not even that edgy medium sized folder that looks and feels like a gun, to match your gun in the photos you like to take of your gun + knife + minimalist wallet + challenge coin + hanky + watch + etc. Rather, it is a light polite knife with a tactical edge. The handle has a pleasant, clean aesthetic. It also feels great in the hand and accommodates grips that many folders can't, as it is almost neutral in shape. Rather than having the entire handle covered in grippy material, the strategically placed jimping and green grippy shell provide more than enough traction. The grivory is skeletonized and makes up almost the entire handle, with just a bit of steel to seat the pivot and lock. This makes the knife very light for the blade+handle size it sports. Grivory/Griv-Ex disturbs people because it reminds you of cheap plastic when you rub on certain spots of the knife, like the edge of the scales, but it is just as durable if not more durable than G10 (which is also, technically, plastic). However, I do understand the sentiment. You spend good money on a knife, you want "THAT FEEL," and while the ergos are great I can't argue that Grivory is a luxurious material, even if they've done a good job with it. IMO the buttery smooth action, great ergos and blade shape more than make up for it though. Think of the Redoubt as a well-made Glock. If you need a premium knife to feel more like a 1911, you should look elsewhere.
