Another Benchmade Bang-For-Your-Buck!
For Benchmade owners, very few words are necessary to describe the quality of most of their blades. One touch is all you need! This blade is no different. Benchmade has no doubt beefed up the classic "flipper." Below is all you need to know before you buy, I assure you! For those who may not recognize the Benchmade brand that are considering an EDC worthy and dynamically capable of small to large tasks, or for current fans seeking their next purchase - the Benchmade 495 Vector undoubtedly fits within these criteria and for a great price! The lightweight, yet durable, G10 scaled handles not only assure a confident grip, but countour its design into the spearpoint blade beautifully. This contour is not only streamlined perfectly with the blade itself, but establishes a natural ergonomic grip for the user as well. Perfectly balanced - the weight of this blade is equally distributed from end-to-end assuring its user a confident and controlled functionality. The fluidity and ease of equipping the blade alone (via its AXIS flipper design) makes this knife a worthy purchase. Once deployed, the blade is absolutely static with the AXIS mechanism eliminating any toggling between the blade and its hilt/housing. The same confidence is also noted within its solid dual slide-locking mechanism, securely housing the blade in two ways. This allows for the blade to both be locked traditionally (while the blade is already housed), as well as allowing the lock to identically function closed (sliding it in its locked position) while the blade is equipped. The first method guarentees the blade remains secure, preventing any mobility, while the second assures the blades secure immobility immediately after its retracted. The deep pocket clip is as flush with the handles as need be, agreeably securing the blade tightly to a pockets lining. This grip yeilds minimal roaming, no matter the users activity level or motioning while the knife is inactive in concealed carry. The satin blade is beautifully polished and razor-sharp, ready for any field of duty right out of the box, as is the hallmark of quality akin to every Benchmade knife. Standing out from most model flippers similar to the Vectors' basic size and function - the additional advantage of an unconventionally wider 3.6" spearpoint blade cast in S30V steel seeks only to embolden the resilience and durability of a knife this size even further. Lastly - combining the aformentioned qualities of the Benchmade 495 Vector with its price tag truly establishes a new standard for EDC flippers everywhere.
